Safety Management, MS in Applied Health Science

Protecting America's workforce, the general public, and the environment from injury in today's age of technological and scientific advancement has become one of the most challenging and rewarding career fields available.

The Master of Science in Applied Health Science in Safety Management prepares students to respond to the needs of employees and the public, to analyze hazardous situations, and to research and apply government regulations. Safety managers recognize risk and design methods to control hazards with management skills and techniques needed to assure safety for all.

As a student in the program, you complete 35 semester hours of graduate credit. The curriculum covers such topics as safety education and training strategies; research in health, kinesiology, and recreation; safety management in business and industry, workplace safety behavior; safety standards for industry and construction; risk assessment and compliance; safety performance measures and leadership; and safety and health program design.

This is a non-thesis degree; however, you complete a practicum in safety education and a capstone experience in safety management.
